PSLTC! - 29- 30 Nov '10
PSB'11! <3
PSLTC was the first time PSB'11 met up together as a board. (:
Day 1
We were introduced to ONE, our heads for 2011, our PSB teachers, and finally our groups! Following that, we had Ice-Breakers and training on "What is Peer Support?" And I'm sure everybody will remember that water chestnut drink with CHUNKY BITS!
After which we had our external trainers from Trybe whereby they introduced us to the DiSC behavioural tool and we had the DiSC Profile Personality Assessment.
After a long day, we had debriefs and everyone went back anticipating the following day which would prove more exciting than Day 1(:
Day 2
After Ice-Breakers and reflection sharing, we had the very exciting committee presentations where the SPSLs from the different committees went up to present the jobscopes of the different committees. Everyone got a chance to choose what committee they wanted to be in for rotation 1.
We had training on "Minute-Taking and Proposal Writing", after which we got to write a proposal with our groups under the mentoring of our SPSLs.
After lunch, the external trainers from Trybe came and together as a board, we attempted to complete the Moat Challenge, one of the rare times where RGS girls are deathly silent. With everyone cheering each other on, we didn't give up and finally completed it with a timing of 1:23:51!
The last people 'crossing the moat'. Look at everyone's faces hahahaha.
After which we had badge initiation where everyone wore the PSB shirt and the SPSLs helped us put on our badges and drew on the 'eye' for the dolphin behind our shirts. This signified the SPSLs guiding us through the PSB journey. We also sang our beloved board songs, At the Beginning, Truly madly Deeply, Send it On, and Voices That Care.
After dinner, we had the exhilarating, frightening, and exciting Night Surprise! Everyone had to put on blindfolds and we went on a trip around the school filled with surprises and obstacles. Some of our group mates were pulled away at times, and there was constant screaming all around us. Thank you SPSLs who sacrificed your voices to make this whole scenario possible(: And of course the SPSLs who lead us safely through the entire walk!
Finally we had reflections, a video, and a final debrief by ONE. And that's our very eventful PSLTC for you!(:
